  • Ebook Selling Must-Dos

E-Books are part of the new frontier of cyberspace. They are an entirely new medium for sharing marketing information, ideas, techniques, and expert knowledge. Each day the number of people accessing the Internet grows, causing the exposure of your E-Book to increase incrementally. It’s obvious why electronic self-publishing has become so popular so quickly.

The publishing industry, I hope, does not intend to forever banish the printed word to the dustbin of history. Books in print have their own special qualities and merits, and the world would be diminished by their disappearance.

Having said that, let’s look at what makes E-Books so important and so unique.

E-Books have certain abilities and qualities that other mediums do not possess. For example, E-Books are fairly easy to produce, and their production cost is inexpensive. Just think about it: you don’t need a publisher, an agent, a printing press, offset film, ink, paper, or even a distributor. You just need a great concept, the ability to write it or to hire a writer, and the right software.

Additionally, E-Books are easily and rapidly distributed online. They are also easily updated; they do not require a second print run. All you need is to go into your original creation and modify the text or graphics. Because of this flexibility, E-Books can change and grow as fast as you can type.

E-Books are also immediately obtainable. You don’t have to go to a bookstore or search through endless titles at an online bookstore. All you have to do is download it from a website, and presto! It’s on your computer, ready to be read.

E-Books are interactive. This is one of the most unique and specific qualities that E-Books offer. You can add surveys that need to be filled out, order forms for customers to purchase your products or goods, sound and video that draw your reader into the virtual world of your E-Book, even direct links to relevant sites that will expand your E-Book outward. The potential is virtually limitless.

E-Books have a particular kind of permanence that other mediums do not possess. Television shows and radio shows air once, and then may rerun a few times. E-Books remain on your computer for as long as your choose, and they can be read and reread whenever you choose to. They can even be printed out and stored on the shelves of your traditional home library.

Another wonderful quality is that E-Books have no barriers in terms of publishing. You don’t need to go through the endless process of submitting your manuscript over and over again, and then once you land an agent, having the agent submit your manuscript over and over again. Nor do you have to shell out thousands of dollars for printing a self-published book. All E-Books require is a writer and appropriate software.

Figure out your market, write your book, post it on your website, and with the right business savvy, your audience will come to you.

Finally, you have creative control over your E-Book. You don’t have to compromise with an editor or the publishing trends of the time. You don’t have to haggle with a designer or wait for copyedited galleys to arrive by snail mail. You are in complete control of the design and the text.

  • Learning The Basics Of Mobile Marketing

Mobile marketing is becoming more and more popular among business owners and this trend is not going away. Everywhere you turn you see people on their smart phones and mobile devices. As a business owner, you want to make sure you are taking advantage of this growing trend so that you can connect with new customers and put timely offers in the hands of willing buyers.

This short report will cover the most critical items you need to be aware of when it comes to mobile marketing for your business.

Mobile Marketing Defined: Mobile marketing is essentially the act of using mobile/wireless devices to distribute advertising messages from a business to a potential consumer. The messages can be time and location sensitive so that advertisers are engaging potential buyers at a time when they are most likely to be interested in the offer. The message format can include SMS (text) Messaging, MMS (multi-media message), applications and mobile websites.

Mobile Trends: You really don’t need any advanced reports or statistics to realize that mobile marketing is becoming more and more important to businesses. The number of people accessing personal data, internet, email, etc… from a mobile device is growing rapidly and this trend will not stop anytime soon. Check out the mobile growth stats from the International Telecommunication Union http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/ict/statistics/at_glance/KeyTelecom.html

Mobile Websites: Know the trends with mobile usage, what kind of information are you displaying on your company website to people who visit your site on a mobile device? Make sure that you are a plan in place to cater to the mobile audience and that your website gives them the most important information they need to know in the most compatible mobile format possible.

SMS (Text) Marketing: When you think about most mobile device users, almost every single one of them is an active text user. Many of these people prefer texting to most other forms of communication. Most people also carry their mobile device with them at all times. With text marketing, you have the opportunity to contact multiple customers at the same time and they receive the message in real time. SMS message delivery can be guaranteed which makes it a preferred method to email in many instances.

You can also extend SMS marketing to be “location-aware” so that if a potential buyer is near by, you can send them a coupon. Make sure you consider all text marketing avenues for your business or you may be missing out.

Application Marketing: Developing an application that promotes your business to a mobile user is another great way to harness the power of mobile marketing. Mobile apps are one of the hottest items available in the wireless world. You could apply the same concept to mobile games as well. Any application that builds your brand into a potential buyer’s mobile experience, is a great way to get on the mobile marketing bandwagon.

  • What Does PLR Licensing Actually Mean?

When you are creating and selling PLR material, there are many things to consider.   One of these things is to choose what usage rights are you going to give away on your PLR products.  Even though, by it’s very nature PLR is virtually wide open in how you can use it, there are still certain restrictions you can (and should) consider.

Any PLR product you create should include the specific rights you wish to grant and/or disallow.  Commonly, those will be found in a plain text file that follows this general template (Feel free to use this one in fact, just change the yes’s and no’s to your desired choices):

    Usage Rights:

[YES] Can edit, take apart, add to, or sell as is

[YES] Can be bundled with other products

[YES] Can be offered as a bonus

[YES] Can use the content as a viral report

[YES] Can be used to create audio/video products

[YES] Can give them to your affiliates to publish to promote your products

[YES] Can be used for opt-in bonuses (newsletter signups, etc.)

[YES] Can be added to paid membership sites

[YES] Can be offered through auction sites

    [YES] Can claim full authorship

    [YES] Can alter ecover graphics

[NO] Can be used as web content

    [NO] Can Sell resell rights

[NO] Can sell master resell rights

[NO] Can sell private label rights

[YES] Add to free membership sites

This is not the entire scope of usage rights you can grant or withheld, but it is a great starting point, and feel free to use it for your own creations.

I won’t break down every right as they are fairly self explanatory but their are a couple that take a little more consideration then others:

[NO] Can be used as web content – This right basically means people can’t break down your products for blog posts, or website copy.  This is a right you need to think about.  A lot of our products are full product suites that we fill lose value if they are found as web content across the net.  If we were just selling a pile of articles, it might make sense to allow them to be used as web content.

[YES] Add to free membership sites – This is also a right to consider.  If you feel the value of your PLR product is hurt by offering it to free membership sites, then feel free to use no.

[NO] Can sell private label rights – This is one we had to add to our products after initial launch of our site.  We were allowing people to sell OUR PLR as their own PLR products – welllll that was a problem because then they’d populate entire PLR membership sites with just our products.  We essentially were creating competition every time we created a product.  Not a great business model.

When you release PLR products, remember to include usage rights.  It might take a couple tries to balance, but the best combination of rights will protect the value on your PLR while still leaving it desirable to online marketers.

While you are free to copy ours, make sure you consider what works best for YOU.  You can change yes’s to no’s, you can add or delete rights – but at the end of the day you want a list of rights you and your buyers can live with.

Does anyone have any other usage rights they add to their own products?  Let us know in the comment area.

  • Domain Cash

The Internet domain market has become more and more lucrative in the past few years. Almost all companies as well as many individual people these days have websites, and most would prefer their websites to be immediately recognizable. Domain names tell people what websites are about, and this can be a big plus when someone is doing a search and looking for something specific. Although almost anyone can have a free website through his or her Internet provider, the addresses of these websites will usually contain the name of the provider first, and then whatever name the user chooses for the website. For example, if your Internet provider is called ABC Internet, and you build a website using the web space that your provider gives you, you may want to name your website “yourshop”. Though you would prefer the website to simply be called yourshop.com.

Businesses, and many people, prefer their website names to be succinct and to the point. This is where domain name buyers and sellers come in. No two people can use the exact same domain name – domain names are registered to owners – therefore, every time someone wants to give a website a certain name, he or she must first do a search to see if that domain name is already taken. If the domain name is taken, then he or she can check to see if it is for sale, and possibly buy it from whoever owns it.

It becomes clear, then, that buying and selling domain names can be quite lucrative if done properly. The more registered domain names you own and are willing to sell, the more money you can make from people who want to use them. If you are interested in buying and selling domains, however, you must first do a little research. If you own several domain names, but they aren’t ones that most people would be interested in using, then you are sitting on inventory that isn’t going to move – and this inventory costs you money. Domain name registrations need to be renewed periodically, and this always involves a fee. To actually make money selling domain names, you need to own names that are popular. If you own a domain name called “JustSomeStuff.com”, there probably isn’t going to be a big market for it. If, however, you own a domain named called “Plumbing.com”, you may find that more people are interested in using this name.

The most popular method that people use to make money from selling domain names is to become a domain name reseller through a domain name registrar. Using this method, you buy and register available domain names from a licensed registrar at wholesale prices, and then you can turn around and sell these domain names for a profit. Licensed registrars usually welcome this type of business transaction, as it drums up more business for them, since the resellers provide most of the advertising. Many large domain name sellers are actually resellers for even larger domain name registrars. This type of business relationship is common.

As a domain name buyer and reseller, you will need to find ways to advertise your business. If your domain name buying and reselling business is small, you can usually just post ads in websites and forums where people advertise domain names for sale. There are many of these types of websites and message boards on the Internet, and you will be able to find of several of them by using an Internet search engine. If you plan on having a large domain name buying and reselling business, then your best bet is to have your own website where people can search through or inquire about the domain names that you have available for sale. Your website should include reliable contact information so that potential buyers can ask any questions that they might have. Spending a little money for advertising can go a long way in ensuring that your domain name buying and selling business will be a success.
