  • 5 Ps to Copywriting Success

When settling in to draft original copy for a web project, it is important to keep the five Ps of Web Copyrighting in mind. In fact, using this simple formula will make all the difference in how well you stay on track with your objectives.

Here are each of the five Ps along with a simple definition.

    1. Problem – Whenever your task is to convince someone of a need, you must first convince the buyer there is a dilemma that must be addressed. This dilemma or problem helps to set up a sense of urgency, indicating action must be taken in order to take care of the issue at hand. Once your copy presents this problem, then you can begin the process of convincing the buyer you have the solution.

    2. Promise – Essentially, your promise is that the subject matter of your sales pitch is going to make everything okay again. For example, if you presented the problem of dirty windows, you now promise that your product provides the best solution available.

    3. Proof – Having made a promise or claim, it is now time to put your money where your mouth is. In order words, you are going to present all the reasons why your solution works better than anything else. Here is where you make your solution irresistible to the consumer by pointing out how quickly and easily the problem can be made to go away.

    4. Price – After making all the benefits clear, you add the icing to the cake. That is, you make note of what a small cost is necessary to obtain all these wonderful advantages. The idea is to convey that your solution is worth every penny of the cost, even if it may be a little more than some of the similar but obviously inferior products offered by the competition.

    5. P.S. – This is where you add in one more added benefit. This can be something that is outside the scope of the original problem, but somehow still related. For example, you may note that your product not only makes windowpanes crystal clear, but will also do a great job on that resin furniture in the back yard. The p.s. is your chance to provide one more benefit and thus nudge a consumer who is on the fence to go ahead and take the plunge.

This simple formula can be utilized with just about any type of situation where you want to present an issue and then offer a viable solution. Give it a try. Think of a single problem and then see where this process takes you. The results will be a pleasant surprise.

  • Here Comes Another Contender For Mobile Marketing: Will Bluetooth Make It Big?

One of the newest ways of mobile marketing is through a device known as Bluetooth. If you’re not familiar with Bluetooth, it’s time to get out from under the rock and back on top of the mountain of advertising. Bluetooth is a method of transmitting wireless information from one device to another. If you’ve ever heard of wireless mice and keyboards, the secret to their magic is Bluetooth – when a key is struck on a wireless keyboard, the Bluetooth connection registers the information and transmits it to the computer wirelessly, much in the same way that a wire would function to move information in a traditional computer setup.

This method can also be harnessed effectively for advertising purposes, particularly with the development of smartphones. All smartphones these days come with Bluetooth programmed in so consumers can use wireless headphones and transmit information from the device in a way other than traditional wireless communication. This Bluetooth toggle is nearly always on, so the smartphone is receptive to information that could be casting around the area.

This is a perfect way to step in for advertising. Bluetooth advertising works by setting up “hubs” in areas where you believe that interested consumers might be hanging out. A good example of a Bluetooth hub might be at a mall, or a dining hall at a busy college campus. Any place where there’s a high density of people is a great place to set up a Bluetooth hub. When a customer with a smartphone walks by that has Bluetooth activated on his or her phone, the hub will pick up on it. At that point, the hub sends a query to the customer’s phone, asking if he or she would like the information that the hub is sending.

The information sent by the hub can be anything from a screensaver to a coupon to a link to your website to ringtones to a multimedia display. Anything that can be sent wirelessly can be sent to a consumer through Bluetooth. The range of an individual hub can be between 200 and 300 feet – so if you’re at a convention or any place where there are a lot of people wandering around, think of all the customers that can be queried by your hub!

If you’re a startup who doesn’t have a whole lot of money to spend on constant mobile marketing campaigns, using Bluetooth technology can be a great way to get started, since it doesn’t require constant costs. If you’re heading to a convention or you have a booth in a mall, you can have a Bluetooth hub set up for that particular event. Even better, you can track the amount of people who accept your Bluetooth-sent queries, so you can effectively figure out how interested consumers are in your information and make adjustments regarding the broadcasting of information and your Bluetooth offerings.

  • Making Your Blog Standout With These Awesome Widgets

If you are looking to make your WordPRess blog stand out from the pack then you need to consider using widgets that aren’t standard. WordPress comes packed with a ton of useful widgets, but there are many more out there you can add through the use of plugins. Add these widgets below to make your blog more fun and original!

    1. About Me 3000: You can easily add an about widget using the standard text widget but this plugin adds an easily customizable about widget. The widget has all the styling included so it will always look good. You simply add your email and it will use your current Gravatar for the pic. It also offers you the ability to add your social networks which are displayed in a neat row of icons under your picture.

    2. Most Popular Posts: There are widgets that will rank your posts on page views, but that can be exploited. This widget will rank your posts (any number you set) by comments. This is a great idea because then your posts are ranked by community interaction, which I think is more telling than simple page views. It can also encourage people to comment so they can get their favorite posts ranked.

    3. Random Posts Widget: This widget will randomly show any number of posts you set. This is an interesting widget because it exposes your older posts to new visitors. A recent posts widget will show you the most recent posts, while your old ones are buried. This widget will make sure your old posts aren’t forgotten and that people who regularly come to your site won’t see the same old posts always showing up in the sidebar.

    4. KB Countdown Widget: This widget will let you add a countdown to your sidebar. You can use this for products launches (My eBook price will be going up in….). You can also sue this for personal countdowns on more personal blogs (Our wedding is in…). If you want to add a countdown on your site, this is an easy and effective way.

These four widgets are a drop in the bucket. You can visit WordPress.org and find a huge list of widgets that you can search as well. If you want your WordPress site to be more user friendly and unique you should consider non standard widgets.

  • Making Sure Your PLR Investments Will Work For You

There is a lot of PLR content available online these days.  With more content being created, there is more opportunity to find great PLR products.  I remember even a few years ago, there was much less PLR available and the quality was a bit less impressive, generally speaking.  Now that there is more and more good quality being created, it is time that people get picky.

    Why?

One of the main uses and benefits of PLR is in re-branding. You can take a fully finished product and slap your name on it. You gain instant credibility, an asset and potentially a money making tool.  Just like with anything though do you want to slap your name on poor quality PLR?  As soon as your name goes onto that product, it reflects on you and your brand.

Imagine walking into a meeting looking to an offline meeting to secure a 6 figure deal, would you want to toss a bad quality “report” to the customer you are trying to close?  Worse yet do you want your NAME on it?

If you are even considering this, just to let you know the answer is…no.  No you do NOT want to do that.

You want PLR products you can be proud of.   PLR products that will help close a deal and brand you as a pro – not make you look like a rookie in over his head.

When you are buying a PLR product that you plan on rebranding as your own, and you want to be proud of it….then there are a couple things to look for:

    1. Packaging – Is the packaging for this product unique and high quality? Are there some graphic design elements included with the PLR.  Packaging can make a report really stand out and adds professionalism.  A proper cover page makes a difference. It grabs and holds attention.  packaging isn’t just about the design though – what about the actual report/ebook?  You want to make sure it is typed out in an easy to follow style that looks professional.  Visual appeal counts in our society so if you buy PLR without any – you might want to consider the extra cost it will take to have some created.

    2. How It is Written – You should always read your PLR to make sure it is error free.  While typos happen and can be easily addressed with the editable versions, significant grammar issues can be tougher to tackle.  Since the price of PLR is so low, often producers will outsource there work to people who have English as a second language.  This can lead to grammar issues, a clunky read and other confusions.  English is actually one of the toughest languages to master because of a lot of weird idiosynracies.  Even English speaking writers might not be any good.  This is why you have to read your products through to make sure they are the quality you’d be proud to hand someone.

    3. Current – You want to have current info. PLR can be sold for years and if the content isn’t updated then it can quickly lag behind current times.  if you are an offline marketing trying to land web based deals, you want current info.  Your customer certainly will.  The best way to ensure current PLR is to buy freshly created content.  This won’t guarantee the content is current, but it certainly helps.  Often PLR membership sites are good for this because they are constantly adding new content.

  • Make It Easier For Prospects To Find Your Business: Choose The Right Web Address

A web address refers to the title your customers will type into the toolbar at the top of the screen. The web address of the media giant Amazon is amazon.com. You can check out what Disney is up to at Disney.com, and so forth. When you have your own online business, people will be able to type in your web address in order to see what you’re up to, as well!

This may seem like a somewhat obvious concern, but you will have to think up a web address that is catchy, evocative, and easy to remember, which is no small feat. By this point in the history of the Internet, a great deal of the short, snappy names have been taken. For instance, if your business is called Good Times, well, it’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to land goodtimes.com for the purposes of your site.

It’s gotten to the point where many people choose to name their businesses based off of what web addresses they can land rather than basing the web address of the name of the business. In fact, it’s probably a smart idea to check out what web addresses are available before building your site if you have the luxury to do so: those who are building websites to bolster a previously existing business won’t have this luxury, obviously.

There is a lot of fuss on the Internet regarding using hyphens in web addresses. In an overarching sense, whether or not to use hyphens in your web address comes down to personal preference, but it is true that most people don’t stop to note hyphens in the names of addresses unless giving specific directions to a site. Thus, if you have a great name that is available only when you use hyphens (“blue-money.com”) but goes to a different site when the hyphen is removed (“bluemoney.com”), it’s probably best to think of another name, lest you end up accidentally sending customers to an unrelated site or, worse, a competitor.

Also of contention are the extensions for web addresses, which can include .com, .edu, .net, .org, .us, .info, .biz, and many others. There are also country specific web addresses such as .co.uk. Of course, the most popular one of these is the .com, and in general, if you can land the web address of your dreams that also happens to be a .com, then the stars are smiling on you and it’s your lucky day.

However, if there’s no chance of that happening, .org and .net are well-known as well and most customers find them perfectly acceptable alternatives. Just make sure to publicize your website with the full web address should you not have a .com extension. The country-specific domain names are great for local businesses – after all, if you’re working out of Australia and are only serving the Australian community, having a .co.au site helps identify you as a local resource and will heighten the chances of your website popping up when a consumer does a search for local businesses.

  • SEO Article Marketing: How does it Work?

Using seo article marketing methods can do a lot to drive very targeted traffic to your website all for free. If you know how to do it right, you can really get a lot of benefit out of all the articles you write.

many people seem to think that you can either write for humans or you can write for the search engines. They don’t seem to understand that you can actually do it both ways with one article.

To get the most out of all your seo article marketing efforts the first thing you have to do is find a good list of quality keywords associated with your niche website (fairly high searches with little competition).

Once you have your keyword list all you have to do is write quality articles around that keyword. As long as the articles you write are quality and provide good information that’s going to be half the battle.

Do not get stuck in the idea that you have to include your keyword in every sentence of your article. That is considered keyword stuffing and won’t do you any good.

Strive for no more than 3% keyword density. Put the keyword in your title, the first and last paragraph and a few other times throughout your article. That’s all you need.

The simplicity, yet effectiveness, of this methods is why it is so popular. By writing articles you will set yourself up as an expert in your niche. you can use your articles to provide a lot of helpful information to all you readers.

Online, it’s always best to give something of value before you expect to get anything. By giving your readers some good and helpful information and advice, you are building trust with them.

The other huge benefit of doing this, with the proper keywords, is that the search engines will reward you for your content with a high search engine ranking. This will give you a lot of organic traffic.

For example, if your niche is bird houses all you need to do is write some keyword optimized articles around the keyword “bird houses”. Then when someone does a search and types in the phrase “bird houses” your article may well be one of the first that shows up on the page! How is that for free traffic!

The same basic principle holds true for making blog posts. When you are adding content to your blog you simply follow these same basic steps. That way when someone does a search for your keywords they will see your blog post and subsequently land on your blog.

This provides you with a great opportunity to add an autoresponder to your blog and capture the visitors email address so you can contact them again.

Using this seo article marketing method can really help you ramp up your website traffic and the best part? It’s all for free! Just be careful to not fall into the mind set that if one keyword in an article is good, ten must be better. Don’t try to stuff your article with keywords, a few well placed keywords is all you need.

  • Ways to Increase Blog Traffic

Having a blog is just as popular as it has ever been. Sure, blogs may not get as much attention as they once did, but they are one type of website that looks as if it’s here to stay. No matter why you have a blog–to earn money, to promote a product, or just as personal journal–it’s only logical that you would like to know how to increase blog traffic. After all, you have it online for a reason, right? Wanting to get more traffic to it is only natural.

First, some good news: search engines love blogs. This means you have a good chance of picking up what’s known as ‘organic traffic’. The main search engines are looking for is to return relevant results to the people who are searching. Blogs fit the bill on two counts:

    1. Blogs are centered around one topic. Maybe it’s a personal blog where you talk about the stuff that happens to you, or the ideas you have. In that case, the focus is. On the other hand, if you’re blogging to make money, then your blog will have a more narrow focus. Either way, the search engines like this type of content.

    2. Blogs are updated on a regular basis. Search engines tend to place more importance on those websites that have newer content. Once you understand this, it should give you all the motivation you need to post to your blog frequently. Every day or do should be just fine, but try your best to not wait more than one week between posts.

That explains why blogs are a good choice for sharing your message with the world, but what about ways to increase blog traffic? One thing you can do is learn some of the basics of search engine optimization (also known as SEO). This will teach you what things you can do to make your blog look better for the search engines, and that can bring you more traffic.

Choosing the right keywords to build your content around is one of the first things you need to do. You need to find out what terms people are entering at the search engines, and then find out how many are searching for each keyword or phrase. It’s not really a complicated process, but it takes a bit of time to find the best keywords. Doing so will help you to write your posts in a way that will give you the biggest return on your efforts.

The other way to increase blog traffic is to submit articles to article directories. You should have already done the most important step, which is keyword research. You then simply write articles based on those keywords, and then submit them. At the end of the article, you will be allowed to add a link back to your site. This is a double whammy because one of the things that search engines like nearly as much as blogs is search engines.

  • Marketing Success Tip: Stay Focused

When you are marketing online you are going to be constantly taking notes. You will be making to-do lists, and you will be consuming and sharing more information than you ever believed possible.

I use to have my computer full of random text notes. No organization, no way to search it and just a horrible way to stay organized. it negatively effected my efforts when I was starting out. Organization was really one of my biggest struggles starting out and I believe it stunted my early revenue growth.

Once a friend of mine directed me to Evernote though – that problem became old history.

Evernote is the ultimate note taking and organizing tool online.

It will allow you to keep track of all of your notes in one easily organized spot. You can then access your notes from any computer or any device. It will sync all of your devices so you have seamless access to your notes.

It will also allow you to create great to-do lists. You want to organize your time better, create a to-do list in the morning and finish it! Evernote makes this ridiculously simple.

You won’t believe how useful this software is until you try it. It doesn’t just let you keep notes and to-do lists – it also lets you search them. Now you can search all of your notes at once. No opening up 100 files and reading, you simply search by keyword, or general topic and all related notes will come up. I literally have shaved off HOURS per month using Evernote. I can now direct that time to more productive things – you know, things that put money in my pocket.

Evernote also has an amazing feature that lets you take a picture of something, and any text in that picture will be readable by Evernote. You will be able to search these images base don the text within them. What does this mean? Well I know one internet marketer who now has a paperless office. All of his receipts and invoices are scanned as images into Evernote. If he needs to bring up any information, he can easily search these scanned forms.

I don’t think I am a good enough writer to explain, just how helpful this tool has been. Check it out yourself here: *INSERT AFF LINK TO EVERNOTE*

This is the first tip because starting out organized was high on all internet marketers list of tips.
